Not a particularly good sales year for Ford as Chrysler outsold it 3 to 2. Police departments flocked to the Deluxe Business Coupe (now referred to as the Opera Coupe) because of its $742 price and the power and economy of the 25mpg 85 horsepower V-8 engine. Later generations fell in love with the long deck and flowing body curves, making it the hot rodders favourite.
